Report from meetings
- SLM and general information -> MG
The BE management will allow in exceptional cases derogations from the accumulate leave days <=30 rule, if this can be justified by special demand for LS1 activities. We do not expected this to be relevant for ABP - in case of doubt please contact Massimo.
We are encouraged to attend 60y CERN seminars.
Participation of people from our group to the HiLumi annual workshop at KEK will be discussed soon. The people selected will be informed such that they can start with the travel
planning.
We are reminded that the use of CERN cars is strictly restricted to use for CERN.
Some groups including CO are interested to order smart phones for group members. There is currently no policy on this on the department level.
Preliminary design report for the HL-LHC is being prepared, and first drafts are expected to be ready by the end of this week.
The LMC this week will discuss the 2015 optics strategy, including ATS and relaxed beta* options.
It is planned to have a special HSS meeting to discuss the outcome of the LMC before Chamonix, probably on Monday in a week.
- MAD-X status -> LD
There were no major changes since our last meeting.
Documentation on existing features is improved by Ghislain.
Closing edited sequences was improved by Ghislain and flatten should not be needed any more after cycle.
A new development release is planned in few weeks.
- SixTrack status -> RdM
Riccardo gave a presentation on this at the recent ABP information meeting and will be happy for further comments.
Brainstorming discussion on requests for SixTrack and MAD-X -> All
We had a brainstorming discussion on requests for SixTrack features that would be useful to have, and agreed that generally useful features should go to the standard version. The same philosophy applies to MAD-X.
Massimo had already asked by email for requests for desired features. He received proposals from Javier Barranco which have been discussed with Andrea/Helmut who require extra features for simulation of the dynamic behavior of crab cavities.
Roderik commented on extensions for collimation and the idea of a generalized time dependent kick.
Riccardo confirmed that the definition and implementation of a general time dependent kick is planned and should cover ripple and allow for a user defined behavior. He asked for contributions to the implementation. Andrea needs the time dependent kick soon and agreed to contribute to the definition and implementation. For crab cavities changes of voltage and phase are required.
Options for output from SIXTRACK would also be useful, but may be discussed separately.
What about standard tests? Riccardo says there are already some tests and more standardized tests are planned.
