In the discussion concerning the Ion Commissioning in 2007 S. Maury mentioned that the issue of the OP support for LEIR should be addressed.

Optics studies for the LHC beam in the TT2-TT10 line and effect of the QKE58 suppression  - slides

The preliminary results of the optics measurement in TT2 and TT10 with LHC beam with and without QKE58 have been presented. There are still inconsistencies in the Twiss parameter measurements obtained with different sets of screens and this needs to be understood. An estimate of the error on the Twiss parameters needs to be performed.

The dispersion has been measured with the TT2-TT10-SPS Beam Position monitors and varies by ~50% in the horizontal plane when the QKE58 is switched OFF. This is in agreement with the expected change of the dispersion at the extraction point resulting from the change of the dispersion in the SPS ring as estimated by A. Franchi.

The dispersion at the OTR screens resulting from the measurements of the change of the beam position measured at the screens vs. the momentum has not been estimated yet.

Contrary to the expectations no significant change of the Twiss parameters has been measured when switching OFF QKE58. This is also in contradiction with the results of the measurements performed with the Early ion beam.

The data provided by the SEM wires in TT2 and the SEM grids in TT10 need to be analyzed.

PS-SPS Complex optics (O. Berrig) - slides.

During the meeting it was mentioned that standard extensions and namings should be kept as much as possible. Action: O. Berrig.

It was also noted that some documentation on what exists and how to use the files should be provided and a mailing list should be created and used to communicate changes to the users. Action: O. Berrig.

In particular the PSB optics and aperture model should be available before Christmas. Action: O. Berrig.
