Presents: CB, HB, SF,
MG, AK, RdM, TR, TW
- Follow-up of actions from previous
meetings
- Field quality issues of MQTL quadrupoles -> MG (pdf
file)
- With respect to the previous results, the
effect of the feed down from a closed orbit of 4 mm were taken into account
in the numerical simulations (SF provided the special version of the error
routines).
- The impact of the feed down on DA is
marginal.
- A presentation to the FQWG will close the
case.
- Report from meetings
- MEB -> SF
- Installation of
sector 3-4 is about to start.
- Approval of SSS
and special SSS continues.
- Next magnets to
be considered will be the injection septa for IR8.
- TCC -> JBJ
- JBJ communicated to MG that there were
no topics of particular interest for LOC at the the last TCC meeting.
- TAN Workshop -> HB (pdf
file)
- The meeting aimed at managing the space
requests for the TAN.
- A positive outcome: robust luminosity
measurement is now perceived as a must.
- SLM -> MG
- Organisation of
"Habilitation électrique" courses.
- Management of
the car pool: out of the four presently available, two will be moved to
Prevessin for the RF Group. Two will be kept here for ABP. The actual
needs will be monitored during the whole 2006.
- Tracking results with V6.5 optics -> RdM (pdf
file)
- Tracking simulations with the LHC optics
V6.5 were performed and compared with the results obtained with the version
V6.4 and the nonlinear correctors in the low-beta triplets moved. The
simulations are performed at injection.
- There are still some significant
differences in the results calling for a detailed comparison of the two
models. In particular:
- Excitation of the corrector circuits: are
the same in both models?
- Modelisation of the separation dipoles
including the lead/return end effects.
- The comparisons will be made in the next
weeks and reported back at LOC (Action: RdM, MG).
- Organization of sector test -> MG
- Following the presentation made by
M. Lamont (pdf file)
at the LHC Commissioning Working Group, the involvement of LOC members in
the forthcoming sector test has to be reviewed.
- A discussion of possible tasks for LOC
members is launched and some feedback is already given. In particular it
would be good to increase the contribution of LOC to the optics measurements
during the sector test.
- The outcome of the discussions will be
summarised and communicated to M. Lamont (Action: MG).
- AOB
- Change of day for LOC meeting?
- It is proposed to move the LOC meeting to
Monday morning to avoid clashes with FQWG and WGA. The proposal is accepted.
MG will take care of the details of the new organisation.
