General Information (Gianluigi)

Preparation for the injection test of Beam 1 are ongoing in preparation for the synchronization test on 8-10/8.

Volunteers are required for the LHC patrols in view of the DSO tests.

Highlights from EPAC (Yannis) - slides

One of the major highlights is the commissioning of JPARC linac and Rapid Cycling Syncrotron operated at 25 Hz and with an energy of 3 GeV

Some issues: electromagnetic interferences due to the high repetition rate, beta-beating due to the injection bump

Progress in the operation of SNS has been also reported. Losses in the injection region and reliability issues of linac have been reported

Highlights from  ILCDR08 Workshop (Giovanni) - slides

CESR ring will be dedicated to the studies of electron cloud effects and cures. Simulation code comparison and possible solutions to reduce the secondary emission yield have been reviewed.

Highlights from  NuFact08 Workshop (Michel) - slides

There is a lot of acitivity in the neutrino physics and in the design of a neutrino factory. A design report is expected to be written by end of 2010.
